The Carers Place has been acquired and will operate under the leadership of Sam Crinall and Kollen Sussman from 11 March 2024, joining a growing group of National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services focused on coordination and navigation.
The Carers Place (TCP) has developed an outstanding reputation over its eight years under the leadership of Founder Cassie Day. Cassie’s passion for creating community and providing support and connection for South Australians impacted by disability has continued to drive the focus and culture at TCP. Cassie discovered early that high-quality NDIS services, especially Support Coordination, have a lasting positive impact on whole families and the wider community.
Sam and Kollen, who lead OnSide, One Good* Day, Ablelink and now The Carers Place are committed to ensuring that Support Coordination and Psychosocial Recovery Coaching teams and participants have access to strong leadership and governance as they navigate the evolving NDIS landscape. “Reform and improvement are inevitable and essential for such an important scheme,” says Sam, “but as the recent recommendations indicate, whatever changes you make – the need for high quality coordinators and navigators is going to remain. It’s an essential role, and it’s essential it’s done well. That’s our focus as we provide safe harbour for high performing teams through this period of change and consolidation in the NDIS market.”
TCP is an NDIS Support Coordination provider headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia. TCP employs a brilliant team of Support Coordinators who together support a growing number of NDIS participants.
TCP will benefit from Sam and Kollen’s seasoned governance attention as well as having access to a suite of corporate back-of-house services that are now well versed in supporting NDIS Support Coordinators and Recovery Coaches. TCP is a continuation of Sam and Kollen’s focus of exclusively providing NDIS coordination and navigation services without the conflicts that can arise from providing other service types like direct or core supports.
“The Carers Place was founded based on my own experiences as a carer trying to navigate the NDIS. I was driven to set up an organisation that I would want to receive services from and as a team member, that I would want to work for,” reflects Cassie. “The most important thing for our caring community is having the best services for the people they care for. In the beginning my family wasn’t afforded that. Good Support Coordination can change a whole family and family dynamic for the better and I know that Sam and Kollen are so well placed to provide and grow those services through The Carers Place and their other organisations.”
